This sporty and technically designed model was the first watch from the Black Forest brand to be made from the particularly resistant HDSPro® case steel - a material that is 100 times more scratch-resistant than conventional stainless steel. CLOSE TIES TO RACING HANHART AND MOTORSPORT Legendary tracks, prominent names and unforgettable racing cars - the early days of motorsport were characterized by an aura of adventure and the extraordinary. As the daring drivers battled for a good position lap after lap with roaring engines, team bosses, technicians and track judges stopped the split times. Nothing worked without mechanical stopwatches - without mechanical stopwatches from Hanhart! Ever since the first stopwatch left the Hanhart workshops in 1924, the Hanhart watch brand, which celebrates its 130th anniversary in 2012, has been closely associated with motorsport. As a tribute to the fascination of adrenaline-fueled racing, Hanhart then launched new mechanical chronographs under the name Racemaster in the PIONEER collection in the fall of 2012. DYNAMIC, COOL, BOLD SPORTY LOOK It was clear from the start of the design phase that her look would be inspired by sporty technology. Its face - a nod to the design of historic motor sports cars: dynamic, cool, bold. The result is a watch with a distinctive case and unmistakable leather strap with a racing design and red lining. With a dial that is a successful reminiscence of early speedometer displays in its tidiness, with the arrow-shaped, noctilucent hands, with the simple, easy-to-read Arabic numerals and the applied hour markers, with the color division into individual segments and with the typical Hanhart display shape with two counters at 3 and 9 o'clock, a tachymeter scale on the periphery and the unusual rondelle in the center. And of course with the characteristic Hanhart hallmarks - the asymmetrical pusher arrangement and the red reset pusher. In the Racemaster GT, which is equipped with two pushers, the small round at 9 o'clock is not reserved for the small seconds, as is usually the case, but also houses a practical 12-hour counter. The upper chronograph pusher, which is offset asymmetrically towards the lug, is striking - a Hanhart exclusivity. To achieve this arrangement, a specially designed deflection lever is integrated into the case. This redirects the force coming from the pusher at 2 o'clock by the necessary millimeters. SCRATCH-RESISTANT CASE STAINLESS STEEL HDSPro® To ensure that the sporty, technical look of the Racemaster GT is perfectly preserved for a long time, Hanhart was the first watch brand in the world to use an innovative stainless steel for the case of this model, which represents an optimum combination of hardness, corrosion resistance and nickel resistance. Thanks to a special refinement process, this steel is characterized in particular by a surface structure that is at least three times harder and the associated scratch resistance that is more than 100 times better and therefore over 10,000% more resistant. The use of this finishing process is patented under the brand name HDSPro® for the watch and jewelry sector. In addition to the extremely high scratch resistance, the refined steel also has a high corrosion resistance that is comparable to that of the best stainless steels. As the steel is not coated during the finishing process, not only is the look and feel of the material retained, but any coating applied cannot flake off. Last but not least, this steel does not require the addition of nickel, which is why watch cases made from this material have no known allergy potential.
